Sausage and Pepper Stuffed Bread

Who doesn't like sausage and peppers?  This is one of my favorite stuffed breads!

1 lb sweet Italian sausage, without casing
1 recipe bread dough
4 ozs cream cheese, room temperature
2 cloves garlic, minced
7 ozs roasted red peppers, drained and sliced
⅓ c kalamata olives, pitted and sliced
2 c mozzarella cheese, shredded
2 t poppy seeds

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Grease a baking sheet and set aside.

Place the sausage in a skillet, brown, drain and set aside.

Lightly flour a board and roll dough to a 16-inch x 12-inch rectangle.

Place cream cheese and garlic in a bowl and mix to combine.  Spread lengthwise over center third of dough. Top with the sausage, peppers, olives and cheese. Fold dough over filling, pinching seam to seal. Make slits across top of dough every 2 inches. Brush lightly with water and sprinkle with poppy seeds.

Bake for twenty five minutes.   Place on a wire rack and let rest for at least ten minutes before slicing.
