"That's What I'm Talking About" Burger

What’s not to like? A nice fresh off the grill, juicy burger loaded with carmelized onions, sauteed mushrooms and hot, melted gruyere cheese served with toasted bun. Yum!!

  • 1 lb. ground sirloin beef
  •  2 t Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste (1 t of each)

Mix all ingredients above and make four hamburgers. Grill to desired likeness, but suggest medium rare.

  • 4 T butter
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  •  8 ozs mushrooms, sliced
  •  2 t flour ½ c beef stock
  • ½ c Gruyere cheese, shredded
  • Salt and pepper

Place the butter in a large skillet and melt. Add onion and mushrooms and cook about five minutes. Sprinkle with flour, salt and pepper and cook two more minutes. Add beef stock and cook for another two minutes, stirring often. Top burgers with onion and mushroom mixture and immediately top with shredded gruyere cheese. Toast buns while cheese melts and serve. Now, that’s what I’m talking about!
