Broccoli Rabe, Mozzarella and Sausage Patty Sandwich


Broccoli rabe, sausage and orcchetta is a dish that is always welcome to our dinner table.  Wanting to make a quick and simple dinner with the same flavor, we made the recipe into a sandwich.


  • 4 sausage patties
  • 2 bunches of broccoli rabe
  • 2 T olive oil
  • 1 T minced garlic
  • 1 fresh mozzarella ball
  • 2 T butter
  • 4 english muffins


Steam broccoli rabe until wilted, but firm and drain.


Place the oil and garlic in a large skillet over medium high heat and cook until fragrant, about three minutes.  Toss in the drained broccoli rabe and cook to heat broccoli.


Grill sausage patties over medium high heat until thoroughly cooked, about three minutes each side.

While the sausage patties are grilling toast the English muffins, remove from toaster and spread with butter.   Set aside.


Cut four slices of fresh mozzarella and set aside.


Place the bottom of the English muffin on a four individual dishes.   Put cooked sausage patty on the English muffin on the dishes.  Top with mozzarella and then the warm broccoli rabe.  Place the top of the English muffins over broccoli rabe and enjoy!
