This recipe can be doubled.  Although I've never tried it, I've been told that you can store these in a sealed brown paper bag.
  • 1 ½ c flour
  • 2 T sugar
  • 1 salt
  • ¾ t baking powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 3 T butter
  • canola oil for frying

Take out an electric skillet.

Line a platter with paper towel and set aside.

Place the flour, sugar, salt and baking powder in a bowl and whisk.  With a wooden spoon, add egg, egg yolk and butter and mix until combined.    Place the dough on a lightly floured board and knead for five minutes.   Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Place oil in the electric skillet that is three inches deep and set at 350 degrees.  Working with a quarter of the dough at a time, roll into a very thin rectangle and with a ravioli cutter, cut into a three inch strip and fry.   Fry until golden turning to fry other side.   Place on prepared platter and continue with the remaining dough.    Sprinkle with confectionary sugar.
