Chocolate Salami Cookies



Although these are made in our family at Christmas time, these are good for any celebration. 

  • 1 pkg vanilla cookies 
  • ½ c walnuts, chopped 
  • 3 T cocoa 
  • 1 stick butter less one T, melted 
  • 1 large egg ½ c sugar

Smash the cookies into small pieces. 

Place the cocoa and sugar in a pan and mix with whisk.   Stir in egg and melted butter and cook on low heat for four minutes.  Stir in cookies and nuts, mix well.

Rub the remaining tablespoon of butter and on a sheet of parchment paper .   Dump the mixture from the pan on the parchment paper and roll it in the shape of a cylinder.   Twist the ends of the parchment paper to keep its shape.

Refrigerate for at least three hours before serving.  Remove from refrigerator, slice and enjoy!
